You Deserve Answers
Sex is a process controlled by many muscles, nerves and systems in the body. Just like you can hurt your back and struggle with movement, injuries to the pelvic floor can impact sexual function. Too often, providers trivialize or dismiss issues with sex. You deserve to have guidance to help you heal.
What to Expect
We begin by assessing the skin, muscles, nerves, bones and joints of your pelvic floor to begin determining the root cause of your symptoms. Are your pelvic floor muscles functioning properly? Are there other variables impacting your symptoms?
Many people who experience pain with sex have tight pelvic floor muscles. Conscious or unconscious trauma and stress contribute to pelvic floor tightness but by gaining awareness of these muscles you can also learn to help them release.
How We Treat Sexual Function
We offer our expert guidance and treatment possibilities to come to the best decision and treatment plan for you, your needs and your goals. Sessions are always about you and move at the pace your body allows.
Internal exams and treatments can be helpful, but those evaluations and treatments are always at your discretion and we have many other treatment options available.
We know these issues can be difficult to address because of privacy, shame, trauma and a host of misconceptions about sex in our culture.
If you are struggling and don’t know where to go, schedule an assessment with us. We are here to provide guidance, options and can help you build a team of practitioners who listen and are committed to your healing.
