Meet the Team

Erin Johnas

PT, DPT

She/Her/Hers

Dr. Erin Anderson received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University and immediately immersed herself in the world of pelvic health physical therapy. She is a lifelong learner, and has taken extensive coursework–from complex pelvic pain conditions to movement based strategies, including strength training, return to running and yoga. She has an array of knowledge that allows her to treat every person holistically and with expertise.

Collaborating with her patients as a team, she uses a combination of skills including manual therapy, movement, lifestyle modifications and dry needling, all with emphasis on the mind-body connection and interconnectedness of our systems. Empowerment and education around our body’s natural rhythms and cycles, nutrition, nervous system regulation and movement are key tenets that allow for lasting change within her patients.

She is most energized when moving through the outdoors in all of New England’s seasons. She finds joy playing outdoors, on foot or ski in the mountains, and on a surfboard in the ocean.

What Patients Say About Erin

My only regret is not finding Erin during my first pregnancy. I was really struggling both mentally and physically when I became pregnant again shortly after my first. That’s when I came across Oceanside. After a quick intake over the phone, they paired me with Erin. And without exaggeration, it was life changing. Not only did Erin help me physically but truly listened to me throughout our treatments which made a positive impact on my mental health. I’m sad to be leaving New Hampshire and Erin but excited for many more moms to have the same positive experience!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Oceanside Physical Therapy–in particular my Physical Therapist, Erin. I had suffered from pelvic floor pain several years ago and wasn’t aware then that physical therapy was available to alleviate the pain. When the pain returned recently I decided to try targeted physical therapy. From my first appointment I found Erin to be extremely knowledgeable about my situation and she very quickly began therapy to alleviate my pain. I was feeling better after that first visit! Erin’s empathy, understanding, and therapy techniques did the trick. Four visits later I was pain free! Thank you Erin for your help!

Thank you so much for everything! I am so glad I took the time to do this. I feel stronger, more mindful and like I'm back on solid ground. It feels like I'm ready to enter the next phase of finding my rhythm and getting back to myself and I can't thank you enough for that. This process was manageable, much less overwhelming than I envisioned and I appreciate that you maximized my time and (little) energy.

Living with the limitations that come with pelvic pain, I have felt for most of my life that I would never be able to have full agency over my body. Throughout my time with Erin, I appreciated that she centered our work together on strategies that would expand my bodily autonomy and help me to reframe what I had always experienced as rigid physical limitations more accurately as neuro/muscular patterns that can be adapted over time with new approaches to movement and breathing.

My experience at Oceanside PT leaves me reflecting on how the false notion that pelvic pain is intractable stems primarily from a lack of public education on the malleability of the body; I am so grateful that Erin emphasized this education during my treatment in such a way that empowered me to develop a new literacy of my body which, combined with the tools she provided, gave me access to my body in ways I never imagined possible.

I would be remiss not to mention my appreciation for Erin’s holistic approach to her patients’ wellness; while I came to Oceanside to address my pelvic pain, Erin intentionally scaffolded a treatment plan that also took into account my history of back pain. Her vision to create a streamlined home exercise program that efficiently targets each of my physical needs has made it so much easier for me to prioritize taking care of myself, and demonstrates her commitment to facilitating practical, comprehensive wellness strategies for her patients.

I am so grateful for my work with Erin—this experience has profoundly changed my understanding of, relationship to, and control over my body, and I am leaving assured that I have the resources needed to sustain my progress moving forward.

Much love for Erin and the Oceanside PT team!

I learned about pelvic floor physical therapy in my quest to soak up as much knowledge about giving birth while pregnant with my first child. I found Oceanside and was thrilled that such a practice existed so close to home. I started seeing Erin during my pregnancy, she worked with me on body mechanics and labor prep. After the birth of my son, Erin worked with me to minimize scar tissue from birth and to feel confident moving my body during exercise again. The knowledge that was shared during my pre- and post natal journey was integral in maintaining my health, both physical and mental. I highly recommend Oceanside Physical Therapy to anyone that may or may not be experiencing pain or discomfort with their pelvic floor. Prioritize yourself, you will not regret it. Thank you Oceanside!

Success! A word I didn’t think was possible for my story. I have a full deck of cards: I have G.I. issues, I have pelvic floor issues, I’ve had a full hysterectomy, I’ve had two natural childbirths–both with complications. I’m truly blessed to be where I am today, though.

The team at Oceanside Physical Therapy was understanding, kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, and overwhelmingly welcoming. To take time to bridge office to home learning, I would like to thank all of the Oceanside team for their generosity and willingness to help and to want to help. I THANK The individuals who have been placed on my path to a better place of health and recovery. Wholeheartedly I will carry what I have learned and practice because it makes me whole again. A big thanks to Erin who was my Physical Therapist and worked with me the most. I found her to be professional, knowledgeable, kind, understanding and straightforward with her answers towards patients.

If you wish to receive excellent physical therapy, Oceanside Physical Therapy is the only place to go. All of the private rooms are beautifully decorated creating a quiet, peaceful and relaxing environment. The privacy also creates a more comfortable atmosphere. Oceanside PT has a holistic approach which I believe is necessary for total healing.

My DPT, Erin answered endless questions and educated me regarding my problems. She provided handouts containing notes, pictures and drawings so that I had references for home exercises. She was gentle, patient, and kind, while I navigated the challenges of PT.

Once you experience Oceanside Physical Therapy, you will not be able to go anywhere else. This I promise you!

Erin is a thoughtful caring physical therapist who takes a holistic approach to providing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Her professional approach and wide ranging knowledge of treatment options made a huge difference in my treatment. Her knowledge and training enabled her to create and provide a treatment plan that is both effective and sustainable. She takes the time to thoroughly explain and document all treatment and exercise plans.

Our weekly and bi-weekly sessions were a peaceful and grounding break from my hectic schedule and daily stresses.

The integrated approach with Harbourview Health also meant that everyone was on and stayed on the same page during my treatment.

My increased knowledge and new routines have provided a welcome relief for the  pelvic floor issues that used to interfere with my daily life.

Thank you Erin for all you do!  I miss our sessions but am so glad to have relief from my long term issues.

I am so lucky to have found Erin at Oceanside PT during my postpartum journey ! After my second baby, I was having a hard time adjusting back to my normal active lifestyle. She gave me many tools and exercises that helped my body bounce back to a pain free life. Thank you !

Can’t say enough about Erin and the staff at Oceanside. From the initial evaluation through the treatment course, Erin was thoughtful, kind, and a great teacher.

Erin at Oceanside PT was my third, and thankfully final, PT provider to help with my ongoing problems with leaking while running.  If only I found her sooner!

Thanks to Erin's patience and expertise, we were able to work on all the factors that were contributing to the problem.  Past providers solely focused on kegel type of exercises, which was not enough for me, and I was worried I would have to explore surgery.

A few months ago I would leak just chasing after my girls.  Now, I am getting reacquainted with my love of running and hoping to sign up for a fall race!

I cannot thank you enough for helping me through my postpartum/healing journey. You truly cannot put a timeframe on how long your body might need to heal. I struggled during my pregnancy with my body changing and after I gave birth I was so focused on "bouncing" back and my body returning to "normal". Coming to Oceanside allowed me to learn and understand to give myself grace. Whether it is 6 weeks or 6 months everyone has a different healing process just like everyone has a different birth story. I learned so much about myself and my pelvic floor during our time together. I went from not being able to hold my bowels to now being able to go for a walk without having to find the nearest restroom. Thank you so much for helping me in my postpartum journey and never making me feel like I was alone.

Thanks, Erin!

My sessions at Oceanside were extremely helpful in feeling reconnected to my body, and empowering in understanding how to move forward in my postpartum healing. Erin is a conscientious, compassionate and extremely wise clinician. She made me feel at ease, respected and seen at each session, and helped me to feel not just hopeful, but excited about my healing process. I highly recommend Oceanside to anyone in need!

I went to Erin with some postpartum pelvic floor questions and issues, and left with a much deeper understanding of how my core, pelvic floor and hips all work together. She helped to figure out what was going on, and helped me work through some residual issues from a years-old sacrum injury. She was professional, thoughtful, a great listener and has a deep expertise.
