Meet the Team
Andrea Mulder
PT, DPT, OCS
She/Her/Hers
Dr. Mulder has been practicing physical therapy on the Seacoast for over 20 years. She completed her Master’s degree at Springfield College in 1997 and received her Doctorate from Mass General Institute of Health Professions in 2005. Andrea has been a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist since 2002. She has received advanced training and certifications in pelvic floor, bladder and bowel dysfunction through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Health Institute. She has been a certified Stott Pilates instructor since 2003 and has enjoyed teaching classes for individuals with spinal conditions as well as Breast Cancer rehabilitation. Her classes at Oceanside incorporate her expert knowledge of the pelvic floor and Pilates concepts, making her class unique to the needs of our clientele and unlike any other Pilates class on the Seacoast.
Her individual, intuitive treatment approach emphasizes assessing the unique individual and body as a whole and not just the dysfunction. She utilizes various forms of manual therapy including her advanced certification in dry needling. She also has done visceral mobilization training through the Barral Institute, which has allowed further techniques to treat the whole person.
Andrea, her husband and two children love spending time outdoors, camping, hiking and finding time to be with friends and family. As a cancer survivor, she is well aware of the challenges in the healthcare system, finding a work/life balance and prioritizing her own health.
What Patients Say About Andrea
I have been seeing Andrea for visceral work for almost 2 years. She is knowledgeable, insightful, and caring. My energetic and digestive systems have improved significantly.
I did not discover Oceanside PT until 5 years post-hysterectomy but wish I had found them much sooner. PT should be a requirement post-surgery. Visceral training has been life changing and I am incredibly grateful that Andrea is part of my healthcare team.

A few months ago, my physical therapist recommended that I try visceral mobilization. It is one of the best decisions I have made! After having chronic abdominal pain since I was in my teens, I was ready to try anything.
When I first started my appointment, I was skeptical that Andrea wanted to read my body instead of going over my medical history. Hopeful, but skeptical. Three weeks from that appointment, I experienced my first two PAIN FREE days in almost five years. My pain level has been much lower since I started visceral mobilization, allowing me to continue physical therapy and participate in activities I'd given up on.
Andrea is kind, knowledgeable and passionate. You can see her excitement as she explains the areas she targeted that day and the theory behind why. She has a thirst for knowledge and loves learning.
Thank you, Andrea! I feel incredibly lucky to have you on my team.
I was referred to Oceanside around early 2020 by my new gynecologist, who informed me, to my surprise, that my pelvic floor was in spasm.
Here I am, a way-post-menopausal female with exercise intolerance, multi-system chronic pain and autonomic dysfunction.
When I first came to Oceanside it was difficult, if not impossible, for me to sense when the majority of my abdominal muscles were contracting. I had both urinary and fecal seepage that I was afraid might get worse. Earlier attempts at pelvic floor stimulation with my sympathetic urologist only produced an exacerbation of sacral nerve pain and little progress. Several attempts at acupuncture and massage just made the discomfort worse. For three decades I’d felt as if my trunk was disconnected from the rest of my body. The response from (mostly male) doctors I saw over the years ranged from, “Sorry, nothing [else] I can do,” to blatant condescension.
However, armed with Andrea’s new-to-me visceral work and a better late than never diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos hypermobility syndrome, I was now able to safely navigate through the pelvic train wreck. I worked with Lisa on core strengthening exercises while continuing with Andrea. I was given the “poo journal” to fill out with helpful pictures! I know now that what seepage remains is manageable and isn’t going to spiral into total incontinence. I have saved myself from falling more than once because my core is now strong enough, even with not-always-stable joints. When my truncal lymphedema came more into focus, Andrea consulted with and sent me to a lymphedema therapist.
The entire staff—in particular, Hope, with whom I‘ve had the most contact—have always been helpful, welcoming and positive. It’s been worth the 40-minute ride to Stratham. It means a great deal to me to work with people who don’t appear to be thinking of running away screaming (and who get my sense of humor)!

I came to Andrea at a very vulnerable time (after giving birth to my son), physically and emotionally. She is knowledgeable and gentle and effective - and she “fixed” my pelvic floor, turning my grade 2 prolapse to a grade 1, with basically no ongoing symptoms. Her interventions, education and understanding made what was an overwhelming time just another opportunity for growth. As a healthcare provider myself, I so appreciate Andrea’s holistic and trauma informed approach.
I enthusiastically refer all my friends to Andrea and to Oceanside. I wish every new mom, or not-so-new mom could come and see Andrea!

I began working with Andrea over 4 years ago, over this time addressing a variety of issues: pre & post joint replacements, cervical & lumbar spine issues, & digestive concerns.
As a person, Andrea is warm, caring, friendly, supportive , respectful & intuitive. She is a good listener, listening with her mind, as well with her heart and hands.
As a professional, Andrea is smart, knowledgeable & experienced. She is a gifted PT who has helped me learn to calm my body and mind. She is a learner who loves learning new ways of helping her patients. Andrea utilizes multiples modalities, making her work unique to you as an individual, not a one-size fits all approach. Each session is tailored to what you need at that time. I appreciate that the work is 1-1, not in a large group space. Her hands-on work offers healing on multiple levels. Andrea tunes into the physical body as well the emotional. Andrea educates, providing tools for outside of therapy or home-based work, including the Trainerize fitness app which I find enormously beneficial.
Andrea is a joy to work with and I have recommended her to others. I will continue to see Andrea whenever I have physical therapy needs.
Working with Andrea has been life changing for me. She has given me all the tools I need to improve my conditions (stress incontinence, constipation) and to generally improve my well being (Pilates instruction, Four Dimensional Wheel therapy recommendation). She and the Oceanside team are continually developing, educating, and introducing new techniques and they continue to meet me where I am.

As a yoga teacher and outdoor enthusiast, using my body is critical to my well-being.
For 4 months I was suffering a knee injury which prevented me from hiking and skiing, my favorite outdoor winter activities.
After trying several modalities for treatment, including physical therapy, a dear friend referred me to Andrea. My friend told me that she had a remarkably positive experience with Andrea. I called immediately.
Before seeing Andrea, I could not walk more than 10 minutes without pain in my knee which radiated up my leg. This went on for 4 months. It was frustrating and depressing.
I had my initial evaluation with Andrea and noticed that her style is unorthodox. Thankfully, I am open minded and simply followed her lead.
At the end of my first session I was surprised when Andrea suggested I take a walk the next day. Following her advice and feeling skeptical, I went back to my favorite park to try to hike hills and miraculously I walked for 25 minutes without pain! What was even more miraculous was that Andrea barely touched my knee during my initial treatment. I was on that same hill several days before and could barely walk a few minutes without pain.
Since that time a 25 minute walk quickly built up to 35 minutes then a 45 minute hike. And last week, 4 physical therapy sessions later, I hiked for an hour. My knee pain disappeared immediately as Andrea intuitively treated imbalances in my body that had resulted in injury and limitation and pain.
Because I’ve been active my entire life, I have seen many physical therapists and I have never experienced a physical therapist as passionate, present, knowledgeable, confident, caring, sensitive and intuitive as Andrea.
Andrea is my hero and Oceanside is extremely lucky to have a physical therapist on staff who is so naturally gifted.
I’m grateful to Andrea because I can move my body again in ways that make me feel alive and happy.

You guys have changed my life and my perspective on birth. I felt so aware and connected to my pelvic floor through every stage of labor. It's like I could hear Andrea's voice in my head the whole time. I felt capable of relaxing and it made my labor and delivery an absolute dream. Not that I'd recommend the "ring of fire" to anyone really but I felt so strong and safe and capable and the results showed! We left the birth center 2 hours after giving birth. I am forcing myself to rest because now I really understand what my pelvic floor needs! I even made it through that dreaded first postpartum bowel movement using all the tips Andrea has given me.
I cannot express my gratitude enough. You gave me back my autonomy and power in birth. There are not enough amazing things I can say.
I cannot say enough about the great care I have received at Oceanside. Their team is exceptionally trained. Andrea is an incredibly intuitive, talented and thorough therapist that truly listened to understand my symptoms to develop my personalized and well thought out treatment plan. I was at my wits end, feeling this was my new baseline at 55; unable to take a walk or hike without fear of bowel or bladder issues. I was also having spasms that made it difficult to put my pants on or turn in bed. Andrea’s evaluation revealed many trigger point areas I had no idea were there but she found with her experienced manual exam. She went above and beyond to figure out best approaches to help me. Her interventions have been truly life changing! I feel like myself again enjoying all the activities I love as well as all the simple daily movements without fear. I am so grateful for finding this specialized practice with such a phenomenal team of therapists. Andrea has been magical in helping me regain function, enjoyment and my confidence to do the things I love!

Andrea is an extremely talented physical therapist who is also very welcoming and kind. An excellent listener and evaluator, she was quickly able to zone in on an effective treatment plan for me. After sessions for manual therapy, dry needling and exercise instruction, I progressed enough to focus on the advancement of my home exercise program.
Through Andrea’s facilitation on the Trainerize app, I enjoy her detailed video instruction with precise visual and verbal cues, which help to reinforce what I have learned in the PT office, keeping me strong and accountable. I have already recommended others to Andrea and this excellent practice, and will continue to do so!

Andrea helped me recover from three surgeries on the same shoulder over the span of three and a half years. My positive recovery is due in large part to her knowledge, persistence, and caring. The PTs at Oceanside work one on one during your entire appointment, unlike the large facility I initially attended. This makes a significant difference! The one on one service you receive at Oceanside Physical Therapy is invaluable.

We have been patients of Oceanside for a while now. The whole office is very welcoming! We see Andrea, she is very patient and listens to our needs. I had back surgery and she has made such a difference with my healing. She actually knows more than some of our doctors. I have referred her to many of our friends and they feel the same. Her hands are like magic.
-Jerry and Phyllis
Oceanside Physical Therapy has significantly helped me with my visceral pain. Andrea has been a pleasure to work with and always offered her expertise with kindness while listening with care.
