Max Blair
Personal Trainer
He/Him/His
Max is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. An Appalachian State University alumni, he graduated in 2015 with his B.S. in Strength and Conditioning and a minor in Psychology. After college, Max started working at Training for Warriors, a group training gym. After a year and a half he started his own personal training and bodywork business, called Maximum Wellness. He also went on to become certified in body tempering and a USAW Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Coach.
After starting his own business, he realized his deep passion for people. Coach Max and Coach Kristal partnered to form TRIBE Fitness, a family-friendly, fitness-oriented gym that helped people achieve their individual goals through specialized training.
When TRIBE closed its doors in 2021, Max moved to San Antonio to join Bexar Barbell as an Olympic Weightlifting Coach. While in Texas, he trained everyone from beginner levels to highly experienced competitors. It is also where he lived with his girlfriend Jasmine and dogs.
Max has a deep passion for inspiring people to be the best version of themselves, in and out of the fitness center. His goal is to be a catalyst and motivator and to aid his clients to be empowered through means of physical fitness, self care, and mental strength.
Max loves to be outdoors with his dogs: Otis, Pudge, and Baker. In his free time, he likes going hiking and camping, playing disc golf, collecting cool socks, and watching Lord of the Rings.
Max has helped me so much in such a short amount of time. I had a car wreck earlier this year that left me with a broken clavicle and fractured ribs. Once I was healed up, I picked up weightlifting and luckily Max was my coach. He helped so much with my recovery between specific stretches and exercises. My left shoulder is practically back to normal. Not only did he help with my shoulder but also my Multiple Sclerosis spasticity issues. I’ve been far more active and pain free with his help. Huge Thank You Max!
Max was patient, kind, and understanding from the beginning. He showed me the basic principles of weightlifting and coached in a way that made me fall in love with the sport. During our time as coach and athlete, Max showed me how important it was to not only be physically healthy but mentally as well. As we worked on developing my physical strength and perfecting lifting techniques, we also worked on how to address my mental health. He helped instill the importance of self-confidence and a healthy communication with myself, showing me that if I did it for myself and I was happy for myself, there is no limit to what I can accomplish (also reminding me that women can do it all). For that, I am forever grateful. Max is a pleasure to work with and although our time was short, it is forever cherished.
When you first meet Max, it’s like you're meeting family. During my time with Max, he taught me, instructed me, and led me, but most importantly listened to me. It’s difficult to give trust to anyone, but with him and what he has to offer, rest assured you're in good hands and a great heart.
