Maggie Atkins
Personal Trainer
Maggie Atkins is a dedicated advocate for holistic health, driven by her transformative medical journey. Her career in health and wellness began in 2020, during a life-changing health battle that required brain surgery. Confronted with debilitating autonomic symptoms, Maggie approached her surgery with grit, treating it as an opportunity to harness the power of movement, nutrition, and psychological support.
Remarkably, she earned her personal trainer certification just weeks before undergoing surgery. Post-surgery, Maggie faced the grueling task of relearning how to walk while managing lingering symptoms. Despite these challenges, her commitment to recovery led her surgeon to note that her progress at one month surpassed that of most patients at six months—a testament to her discipline and holistic approach.
Inspired by her recovery, Maggie pursued a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness, graduating with honors in 2024. Maggie’s resilience, compassion, and expertise make her a powerful advocate for patient-centered care.
As an Emergency Medical Technician and Lieutenant at the Washington Fire Department, she has honed her skills in patient advocacy, communication, and compassionate care. Her work extends beyond immediate care, encompassing community education and engagement, where she builds trust and fosters connections through active listening and empathy.
Fun fact, Maggie’s family owns a maple sugar house and she is our very own sugar dealer often supplying tasty maple popcorn, syrup, candies, and snacks. She loves to spend her time outdoors, particularly with her many animals to include her chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and horse. Interestingly, Maggie’s horse Taco also has his fair share of health issues that have given her a background in equine nutrition, holistically improving Taco’s health as well. In addition to her love of the outdoors Maggie is an athlete. Beginning in elementary school she played many sports and continued as a pitcher in softball through college, traveling to compete nationally.
